I’m Lucy Flores, the CEO, and Co-Founder of Luz Media, a Latina-owned media company on a mission to challenge the stereotypical Latina narrative by telling our stories authentically and boldly.
When Luz launched 4 years ago, I knew this entrepreneurial journey would come with challenges; I just never imagined one of them would be me fighting to save my life and Luz simultaneously. My medical condition forced me to confront the reality that no one does anything alone and with that, inspired me to transition into an audience-supported model for Luz Media.
The media space for Latinas (and Latinos, Latine, choose your label) is almost non-existent. There are at minimum 30 million Latinas in the U.S., but how many national Latina media outlets can you name?
Luz was created to get our stories into mainstream media and create a space to celebrate our culture in a country that is dead set on assimilating it out of us. And every day, we continue marching towards that goal with a track record of your support as evidence that what we’re creating is necessary, wanted, and useful. This is just a tiny bit of what we’ve accomplished together:
As we close out the year, we need your help closing our 2023 budget gap.
We're raising $100,000. Will you help us get there?
Keeping an independent media company up and running isn't cheap or easy, but as I often say, hard is not impossible.
And with your support, we can keep creating the stories that can change the media landscape for all of us.
Luz Collective, Inc is not a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and your contribution is not tax-deductible. Your contribution is made in support of Luz Media's continued operations.

Luz doesn't exist without the support and generosity of a community of people who know how critical it is to keep independent Latino-owned media alive.
Luz wants to recognize our supporters who generously gave $1000 or more so that we can continue to publish the stories that deserve to be included in mainstream media.
